Maria founded Platinum Properties in 2013, having worked in lettings since 1998, and remains hands on in the business every day, leading on compliance, legislation, systems and staff management. Nearly three decades in, she still loves how much this industry keeps changing.
Before Platinum, Maria's career took in IT, marketing, accounting, customer service, HR and health and safety, all of which she draws on in running the business today. She set up Platinum, encouraged by her late father, after leaving a corporate-acquired agency whose way of working did not sit with her values. That conviction still shapes everything: an independent agency managing good quality homes for landlords who take their responsibilities seriously, and an honest, expert service for the tenants who live in them.
Growing up locally as the daughter of a builder gave Maria a detailed knowledge of the area and of how homes are built and renovated, which remains a real passion. She is direct and uncompromising on standards, and her eyebrow has been known to share its opinion before she does. Outside the office she supports the Ely community through the Ely Hero Awards, local junior football, schools and apprenticeships.
